Long Reach Spare Part

About This Category

Higher loads, faster wear

An extended front carries considerably higher bending moments than a standard boom, and those loads concentrate at the pivot points. Pins and bushes on long-reach fronts consequently wear faster and need inspecting on a shorter interval than the carrier's standard schedule assumes.

What wear looks like

Play at the pivots shows up first as imprecision at the bucket — the operator notices the tool wandering before anything is visibly worn. Left alone, pin wear becomes bore wear in the boom eye itself, which turns a pin-and-bush replacement into a fabrication and line-boring job.

That escalation is the reason to inspect on schedule rather than on symptom.
