HD Grapple

About This Category

Two jaws, high closing force

A heavy-duty grapple uses two opposing jaw sets on a rotator to grip and lift awkward loads — logs, root balls, demolition debris, pipe sections. Compared with a multi-tine grab it applies more concentrated force across fewer contact points, which suits dense, rigid items rather than loose bulk.

What to match

  • Jaw opening to the largest item, and closed profile to the tightest space you must reach into.
  • Closing force to the material — timber needs grip, demolition debris needs the force to crush and settle the load before lifting.
  • Rotator type and torque. Hydraulic continuous rotation for productive work; mechanical free-swing only where orientation genuinely does not matter.
  • Total weight including rotator, at working radius. Grapple assemblies are heavier than they look.
