Enough that it is the governing specification. Capacity falls sharply towards full extension, and the figure that matters is capacity at the radius you will actually work at, over the side, with the attachment you intend to fit — not the maximum reach figure on a spec sheet, which describes a geometric limit rather than a working one.
Usually yes. Extended and high-reach fronts normally require additional counterweight, which raises transport weight and can move the machine into a different transport category. Factor that into transport planning rather than discovering it at the weighbridge.
No — this is the most common and most dangerous substitution made with extended fronts. Buckets for long-reach work are deliberately small and light because the front cannot safely carry a standard bucket at radius. Use a bucket specified for the front.
On many configurations, yes, and it is worth specifying for. Interchangeability between an extended or high-reach front and a standard front materially improves machine utilisation between specialist jobs.
